Our strategy case studies – all published within the UAE and India editions of GO Magazine – describe the strategic options and decisions facing top companies in various sectors. These case studies are based on first-hand interviews with the top management of the companies, including the CEO, and his C-Suite colleagues in strategic planning, human resources, new business development or other functional areas. These cases are usually 4 to 6 pages long, and include background data in charts and tables.
How is Britannia biscuits growing ?
The purpose in this case study published by GO Magazine was to present and analyze the strategy of a leading Indian biscuit manufacturer, Britannia. We examined its choice of markets and differentiators so as to uncover and evaluate its growth strategy. This research led us to highlight the conservative albeit successful nature of the strategy: Britannia was growing on the basis of incremental innovation as opposed to forays into brand new product categories.
How Apollo blasted offThis case study looked at India's top private healthcare provider, Apollo Hospitals. We investigate how starting out with hubs, Apollo expanded by adopting a hub and spoke strategy and is now adding wireless to the model by developing telemedicine. We also show how excellence first expressed in hospital management led to diversification into retail pharmacies, insurance, education and consulting.
